Wedding Anniversary Carvings

In this blog post I am proud to be able to share some really beautiful wedding anniversary carvings and displays made by several carvers who have been students of our lessons.

Look at this lovely display of carved fruit and vegetables that Jim Tanner created for a 50th wedding anniversary.

Hi Nita, here is my latest creation for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. Every time I try something new (this time a portrait carving), I always learn
things I would do differently if I were starting over. However that usually isn’t an option. I guess that is just part of learning. The client was thrilled as well as the guest and that is fulfillment enough. Thanks for your continual support, fresh ideas and detailed instructions.

You can learn to carve words and graphics onto watermelons in our Carving Letters and Words video lessons. If you want to learn to carve portraits, I’ll show you how, step-by-step in our Portrait Carving Course.

25th Wedding Anniversary Carvings by Yolanda Diaz

25th wedding anniversary carvings by Yolanda Diaz

Yoland Diaz created this beautiful trio of carved melons for a 25th wedding anniversary

“I want to thank you for your videos and lessons, I have learned a lot. I have been carving for some time now, and I found that your lessons are very informative, I found specially helpful when you include some “mistakes” that can happen and how to fix them.”  – Yolanda Diaz

Here is a closer look at each of the melon carvings in Yolanda’s 25th anniversary display. Each is so beautiful and well done.

If you want to find our how to carve roses into watermelons, check out our video lessons, Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves.

After viewing our lessons, Carving Letters and Words, you can carve melons like the one shown below that Yolanda made for a 25th anniversary celebration.

Hello Nita,
…I do work for one of the largest resorts in Orlando, the Rosen Shingle Creek, at the garde manger department. Besides that I try to build my little carving business doing fruit platters and displays, I hope some time in the future I can do only carvings 😉 but for the time being I just try to manage my time wisely.
I had the opportunity to participate in some food shows for Sysco and do their displays, I also help with a culinary program with the second harvest food bank where I go and do a class-demo and try to show the students the “fun and pretty” face of the kitchen.
I even help some high school girls to prepare for a competition (their high school have culinary programs) and one of them got 2nd place 😄so I’m grateful for all the things I was able to do last year. As for 2017 is my hope and prayer that I have the opportunity to go back to LA and participate at the competition again, if they so it and maybe have the pleasure to meet you personally😉. Also to continue growing in my knowledge and develop new skills and grow my business.
Well again thanks for all your help, sincerely Yoli
PS:I attached some pics so you see my progress 😀

50th Wedding Anniversary Carvings in Display by Deborah Cheeseman

50th Anniversary display by Deborah Cheeseman

Professional caterer Deborah Cheeseman, who has also been a student of our lessons, made this pretty pate in the shape of a 50 for a 50th anniversary celebration. Because the party took place in December, Deborah added a watermelon carved like a poinsettia. Her overall layout has a lot of eye appeal with its colorful fruit and veggies and chocolate covered strawberries.

I teach how you can carve poinsettia watermelons in our step-by-step video lessons.  We also have free lessons that show how to make chocolate covered strawberries. Click here to get to the free chocolate covered strawberry lessons.

10th Anniversary Carvings by Trinh Cao

10th anniversary carving by Trinh Cao

Customer/student Trinh Cao created this pretty fruit carving arrangement for her 10th anniversary. Being a busy mother of 3 children, she kept the carving design simple, yet effective.

Hi Nita,

Thank you for featuring my fruit arrangements in your blog. It’s nice to see it being used to showcase inspiration for others as you’ve been to me. I’m still learning and applying lots of different skills taught in your Dvds lesson. I know I’ve got a long way to go but being able to look at all the different ways people carve and arrange fruits just makes me so happy. Thank you again for providing this opportunity.

During the festive season I was able to celebrate my 10th year marriage with a family photoshoot. Our photographer asked us to provide some fruits as it’ll be a picnic setting. Being busy with three young kids I managed to put together a simple carving arrangement to add some colour and interest. We all thought it was great…especially the kids (you’ll notice some fruits missing as they wanted to eat before the photos were taken).

Kindest regards
Trinh Cao

Cindy Rozich made this pumpkin carving for a 65th anniversary for Don and Shirley. Notice how Cindy cleverly carved leaves with each of their children’s names.

You can carve words and graphics into pumpkins after watching our video lessons, Carving Letters and Words. Our Pattern Transfer Paper and Fabric are great for improving the ease of carving words and patterns. You can find out more about our Pattern Transfer materials by clicking here.

Our Thai Pro knives are ideal for making the types of carvings that you see on this page.

I hope that you got some great ideas from our student/customer’s photos of their wedding anniversary carvings. So, perhaps you’ll be inspired. Then you too, can make your guests’ jaws drop when you learn vegetable and fruit carving.
