Would you like to see what went on at The Carve IV, Vegetable and Fruit Carving competition? You can also see photos of last year’s carving competition event, THE CARVE III
See all the action and drama of this
amazing vegetable carving competition.
It was a really fun event for everyone from the competitors, to the audience, to the children who attended. This video will show you how the Professionals in the People’s Choice carving competition set up their beautiful displays. You’ll see how the audience was entranced by the amazing carvings and you’ll see how even the children got in on the fun.
And of course there was drama. You’ll also see how disaster struck one of the People’s Choice competitors.
Pros Compete in the People’s Choice Carving Competition
The Professional division was the People’s Choice carving competition. It was named that because the winners are decided by votes from the pubic that attended. Each person entering THE CARVE IV was given one poker chip with which they could vote for their favorite carving.
The contestants could carve whatever they wanted in advance. The only limit was that it fit on the provided display table and that at least 80% of the arrangement was produce.
In the morning they were allowed to bring all their display material into the carving competition area. Then they were given one hour in which to assemble and complete their arrangement. Barricades were put up to prevent the growing crown of onlookers from crowding the contestants.
The audience was fascinated by this carving competition
The audience was truly fascinated. It seems like almost every onlooker was taking pictures with their cameras and phones. When the barricades were first let down so that the public could get a closer look, I couldn’t even get close to the sculptures to shoot my video.
In this video you will see a huge variety of styles in these wonderfully creative arrangements of carved fruits and veggies. You’ll get too see close ups and details. And you will get to see the winners, of course.
After the competition, all of the contestants, coaches and judges were treated to a delicious banquet generously provided by the sponsor of THE CARVE IV, the lovely AlpenRose restaurant in Holland, MI.
Take a look at the creativity on display and how it all happened at THE CARVE IV in Holland MI. (I know the video quality is less than professional quality but I wanted to make sure you got to see what went on.)
Perhaps you will join in on the fun and THE CARVE Vegetable Carving Competition next year.
A big thanks goes to Alpen Rose Restaurant in downtown Holland , MI for the sponsoring THE CARVE IV Vegetable Carving competition.
