It was a fun experience. The show’s hosts, Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare (the beautiful super model from the 70s and 80s), made me feel comfortable. My producer Jessica Robertson did a great job of taking care of the details. They’ve asked me to come back again to show some pumpkin carving.
I loved that Cristina was genuinely excited about learning fruit carving and told me that her husband was going to lose her to yet another hobby. She already finds painting miniature images relaxing.
Here are videos of the show. This first video shows a bit of the intro:
Here is my segment.
It was fun for me to see the time lapse video of my carving. Up til now, I’ve never recorded a time lapse carving. They recorded it with a hi resolution GoPro. It inspired me to go purchase my own.
Photos of the Watermelon Baskets that I Carved for the Home and Family TV Show
Below, you can get a better look at the watermelon baskets that I carved for the show. When I took these photos, I didn’t have time to fill them with fruit salad before wrapping them up and taking them to Hollywood.
If you want to see more about the whole show, you can view it on Hallmark Channel’s website by clicking here. Some of the other guests on the Home and Family TV show included Julie Benz actress on the show Defiance, and Marc Summers from 6 Degrees of Everything” on TruTV and “Restaurant Impossible” on Food Network. The weekend before the show, I got really excited at the prospect of meeting Robert Redford and Nick Nolte who were to appear on the same episode as me, but those interviews were pre-taped. Dang! Would I have loved to meet Robert Redford!!
But all in all is was a fun and exciting experience for me to be on the Home and Family TV show. I hope that you enjoyed seeing it.
