How to Peel a Watermelon Fast – Cool New Tool

I recently found a great new peeler that makes peeling watermelon and other large fruits and vegetables a breeze. It’s the Kyocera Mega Peeler I’ll show you more in this quick 45 second video.

You can get the Kyocera Mega Peeler at

You may be also be able to find a Mega Peeler in a local store near you that sells Kyocera kitchen tools.

Here are a few watermelon carvings done after using the Megapeeler

Watermelon Carving

When you leave the green it adds even more color to the carving.

This watermelon carving design is taught in my Vegetable and Fruit Carving 101 Course for Beginners. This lesson set is also available as an individual DVD, Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves.

about the white coating that left on the melon how do you get of that part can you used the same peeler to remove it.

You can peel it down farther if you like. But, I like to leave the “white stuff” because it adds another layer of color and dimension when carving a watermelon. I added a few photos to the post above to show you what I mean.

Sometimes I leave the green peel as well to add more color and detail like on this watermelon carved into a rose surrounded with buds.

I paid $17.95 for mine. I don’t sell these on my site. The place where I bought mine, the Cargo Company, does not ship to India. But, you can find them online. Here is a link to the Megapeeler
