Merry Christmas! Here are a few Holiday and Christmas Carvings for you to enjoy. For more ideas, you can also see more Fruit and Vegetable Christmas carvings and ideas from my previous blog posts.
Christmas Carvings in Ice
These first are ice carvings sent to my by David Utley who is a skilled ice carver working for Bally’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City.
David sent me the above photo prior to the display being completed. I asked him to send photos of the ice carvings once they are displayed. And, here they are. Aren’t they beautiful all lit up?
Watermelon Christmas Carvings
Another of my blog readers and students Luis Rodriguez sent it this photo of his watermelon poinsettia. Luis did some carvings for a Toy Drive and this Christmas themed watermelon carving is one of them. Luis started out with an interest in pumpkin carving. He learned from one the pumpkin carving DVD lessons that I offer in my online shop. Before long, Luis expanded into carving watermelons.
Last, here, are my Christmas carvings from watermelons. In case you are reading this and thinking , “Where do you get watermelons in December?”, Luis and I both live in California where we can still get watermelons. We’re lucky that way. I know one carver who had her brother ship here a watermelon from Florida and it cost her $50. That’s an expensive watermelon. Oh, what people will do for their art. :~)
Anyway, here are my photos of my Christmas carvings.
You can learn to carve Poinsettia watermelons like these with our Poinsettia Carving video lessons.
You can learn to carve designs like this Santa in our video lessons, Carving Letters and Words.
12/26 Here’s one more photo I just received from Eforie Nord of Vila Casa Cu Lei Restaurant in Romania.
Merry Christmas! Feel free to send me any of the Holiday or Christmas carvings that you have made.
