Carved Watermelon Portraits by Students

Here are a couple of photos of carved watermelon portraits that were recently sent to me by students of my Portrait Carving Course. You’ll see many carved portraits throughout my blog. Our recently previous article shows how one customer/student carved a guest of honor’s face into a dozen watermelons.

watermelon portrait by Diep Tran

This was customer/student Diep Tran’s first watermelon portrait. It is an image of her son. She did a good job of making it recognizable, didn’t she?

Hi Nita,
This is my first trial of making my son’s portrait.
Thanks for wonderful lesson.

This is customer/student Wilma Silva’s first carved watermelon portrait. Taking it a step further, she cut her face away from the rest of the watermelon to make a “cake topper” for her pretty watermelon cake.

How YOU can make Carved Watermelon Portraits

You too can make recognizable carved watermelon portraits for occasions like birthdays, retirement parties, graduations and wedding showers. This idea is great for any other celebration that features a guest of honor.

Our video lessons show how, step-by-step, in our Portrait Carving Course. Find out more about it by clicking here.

I hope that seeing some student’s first attempts at carved watermelon portraits gives you inspiration to give it a try yourself. You may very well surprise yourself with how well you’ll do.

If you want to make watermelon cakes, we have lessons for that too. Click here to find out more about our Watermelon Cakes Lessons. And, you will also find tried-and-true quality Fruit Carving Tools as well as time saving Pattern Transfer Materials in our secure Online Shop.
