1 Year Old Watermelon

Have you ever seen a 1 year old watermelon?

About a year ago I bought some watermelons in preparation for a TV appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home and Family Show. One of the watermelons sat unused for a couple of months. I ended up keeping it just to see what happened. It lasted close to one year before showing signs of mold on the outside.

Watch this video to see how it looked on the inside when it was one year old.

I have never seen the a watermelon’s insides that looked like this. I have never heard of a watermelon lasting this long. Around here the outside gets soft, slimy and then moldy very quickly. I never knew that scars indicate an older melon or that they developed as a melon aged.

    Thanks for an interesting video.
