Watermelon Carving Scroll Pattern – Thai Style
Take Your Watermelon Carving Skills To The Next Level
For more than 2 and 1/2 years I have had chefs, students, and even pro fruit carvers asking me to make a video showing how to carve this elegant scroll pattern . So, I am excited to finally have this DVD lesson completed. Now, YOU can WOW your friends, family and customers with this lovely Thai Style scroll pattern.
I’ve been asked for this pattern even since I won a professional fruit carving competition where I carved this watermelon scroll pattern for an Under Sea Garden display. I was pleased and excited to win the first place prize. Others at the event asked me how to carve the pattern. And, once I put the photo of my Under Sea Garden on my website, I started getting lots of requests for a video lesson showing how. It’s been on my list of things to do for quite a while and finally, here it is!
“Your videos are inspiring and you explain in a concise and clear way with a “personal” touch.
This lesson is intended for those who have completed my earlier lesson or who have some melon carving experience. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend my Vegetable and Fruit Carving 101 Course for Beginners or at the very least, my Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves video lessons. These are great primers for learning 3 dimensional Thai Style melon carving. My Carving Melon Flowers – Smooth and Jagged Petals is also a good lesson to learn before this scroll pattern lesson.
If you are already experienced with making 3 dimensional and Thai style melon carvings, then you are ready to learn this lovely scroll pattern. This scroll pattern can be used to carve an entire watermelon or it can use combined with other carving techniques to make your own original designs.
“I am a banker but doing this gave me more thrills than banking ever has. Thank you for sharing techniques at tips.”

“There are teaching styles and then there are teaching styles. In the fruit carving world I have been able to observe several chefs and artist transfer their knowledge, but I am more than happy with the pace, style and charismatic way that Nita teaches.
This 1 hour and 13 minute Watermelon Carving Scroll Pattern video lesson will show you exactly how, step-by-step to carve this strikingly beautiful design. You will see clear close ups and diagrams as well as and hear descriptions and instructions that will make it easy for you to follow along. If you have seen my other melon carving video instructions, you are already familiar with the quality of my videos.

“Hi Nita. Well, I never gave this hobby much thought until i came across your website. after seeing how much you go into detail into showing how and what to do, I fell in love with it. So real big kudos to you!! You are a major inspiration. Thanks many times.”

“Kudos to you Nita! Thank you so much for the convenience you are offering through your videos and online lessons for us carving fans. I have been collecting tools and books on fruit and vegetable carving for several years now and you are right about some things. Some books are in another language although they have a sequence of photos but even still it’s hard to grasp the flow from beginning to end. It doesn’t compare to watching someone do it. I even traveled with my daughter to take a class out of state but, it was expensive and it was just one class. Your site makes it so convenient because, as you stated, I can view the lessons any time from the comfort of my home which eliminates all the issues involved with traveling and accommodations. Your lessons are just as good as having you here with me in person. You teach clearly, thoroughly and at an easy to follow pace. I love what you have done! This was my birthday gift from my husband by the way. Oh, and I made the watermelon cake from the free lesson for my son’s 25th birthday (because he doesn’t like cake)and it was a hit with him and everyone who saw it. Thank you, thank you! I can’t thank you enough! Keep up the great work.”
“Thank you for all the learning I have gained from your videos. It made everything so easy for me.”
