Pretty Pumpkin Carving

Now, lets talk about beautiful pumpkin carving that is useful all year round.

Pretty pumpkin carvings can make a great centerpiece

Pumpkins can be carved into some of the most beautiful bowls, vessels and flowers to dress up any meal or table decoration. Pretty carvings can be used as flowers in an arrangement, and they can be used as graceful decorative lanterns and more. Carved pumpkins can be used as beautiful vases to hold real flowers.

Although the familiar, Halloween style pumpkin is typically only available in autumn, other types of pumpkins can be found in many parts of the world year round. Kabocha Squash which is also known as Japanese pumpkin is a great material for carving. it’s dark green skin provides a striking contrast to the bright orange flesh inside. The smooth texture of the flesh makes it great for carving.

Many patterns common to watermelon carving can be carved into Kabocha squash. Here is a rose pattern that is taught in Nita’s lessons, Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves. Put a light inside and you get a pretty lantern look.

The carving techniques used to carve the rose pattered Kabocha squash are taught in Nita’s Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves video lessons.

It may look intimidating to the beginner but you will be surprised that it is easier than it looks, once you are shown how, step-by-step. And that is exactly what you get with Nita’s video lessons, clear, easy to understand and follow, step by step instructions.
