Sometimes when people see vegetable and fruit carving photos, they think, “Oh, I couldn’t do that!”, “It’s too hard” or “I’m not skilled enough”.
Just yesterday, I was asked by someone who was doing some office work for me, how long does it take to learn how to carve.
I’m so used to seeing people learn carving and have good results that I forgot that learning to carve fruits and vegetable can look very daunting to people who have not yet tried.
Also, when you see the work of expert vegetable and fruit carvers, you might feel intimidated to try vegetable and fruit carving.
I want to you know that:
You Really CAN do Vegetable and Fruit Carving.
So, for the next couple of weeks, I will showcase some of the carvings of my students who have learned from my videos.
If you want to see other blog posts about beginner students and their successes, check out these past blog posts:
There are many other examples of student work all through my blog, let’s get back to today’s featured carver.
On July 28th, Avi Livne from Israel watched my online lessons Carving Watermelons – Roses, Buds and Leaves which is part of my Vegetable and Fruit Carving 11 Week Course for Beginners. Avi wrote an email to me that said:
Thank you Nita,
I spent my last 2 hours watching my lessons on your web site .
It was a really, very nice experience.
So now I just waiting to get the 2 DVD’s of my recent order.
On Aug 1st, only 4 days later, I received an email from Avi. It read:
“Dear Nita …
Thank you so much, every thing was really very clearly, your method is wonderfull !!!
You can see my first watermelons here.
Thanks again – Avi Livne”
These are the photos that Avi sent to me. These are his very first watermelon carvings. Aren’t they beautiful?
