Recently I came across these photos of incredible vegetable carvings from a Russian Vegetable Carving Competition. They so amazing that I wanted to share them with you.

I believe that the large display with all the birds including the white egret was the winning entry.

These vegetable carvings are so intricate and beautiful. I wish I could give you more details about these carvings and the winner’s name but I can’t read Russian. I’m not even sure what vegetables they are carved from but my best guess is that the orange colored birds are carved from pumpkin and butternut or other such squash. I’m guessing that the white egret is carved from a large diakon.

These vegetable carvings are really something aren’t they? Inspiring. WOW!
